Anticipation!

A year ago I caught a glimpse of my daughter through a window, just before her wedding ceremony.

This painting has been hanging on my studio wall for many months unfinished, but I’ve come to like it as it is..

Happy Anniversary Megan and Dan!
8" x 10" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas- NFS

This is lovely. It doesn't seem unfinished to me -- it's loose and expressive, and (did I already mention?) lovely. Many times I think that the intermediate steps are where the painting is really "finished" and the so-called finished paintings are overdone and fussy and look more amateurish.

I think you're right Judy. I can't tell you how many times I've really liked a painting at the
"intermediate" level and then gone on to finish it, only to lose that freshness and for some reason you never get it back. Thanks for your comments, I'll look forward to seeing your blog.

Your painting of Megan is wonderful. I was thinking of them on their anniversay and then opened your blog and there she was. You definitely caught the moment.
